Transmutation

ENERGY:  The power of snake medicine is the power of creation.  It embodies sexuality, psychic energy, alchemy, reproduction, and immortality.  Shedding her skin once again and again, snake transmutes the life-death-rebirth cycle.  She opens the kundalini energy channel of the spine.  This strengthens and enlarges all of the chakras.  The aura expands, becomes brighter and increases our sensitivity to the auras of others.  Snakes are a symbol of change and healing.  This fire medicine teaches that we are universal beings.  Awakening this energy is powerful.  She can devour and transmute diseases.  Using cobra energy we make an offering to her of what we no longer want, what no longer serves us, and she will ingest and transmute this negative energy.

ART:  Cobra snake rattle is a cluster of sinuous curving locust seedpods, each representing the vertebrae of the human spine.  I have strung beads throughout the cluster to create the rattling sound.  The hand-gripper is padded with black leather wrapped around the elongated, striped wooden palo verde pole. Cobra snake rattle can be used for healing and sacred fire ceremony dancing.
